DAY 01- Route (Start - End): Airport / Negombo

You will be met on arrival at the Colombo International Airport by our Acrus Travels representative who will assist you with your luggage and guide you to your vehicle where your personal chauffeur guide / guide await.
Transfer to the hotel on the way visit Negombo fish market and fishing village.
Negombo, set amid lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. The town itself shows its interesting colonial past with many historical buildings situated in and around the city limits which was used by the Portuguese, Dutch and British as main export harbour for cinnamon and is dominantly influenced by the Catholic Church which gave it the nick name ‘Little Rome’.

DAY 02- Route (Start - End): Negombo / Dambulla

Following day after having breakfast leave to Dambulla en route visit Pinnawala Elephant orphanage where you can see the elephants in nature, being fed, working & bathing in the nearby river.
Thereafter you will be taken to the visit Dambulla rock cave temple. Dambulla rock cave temple the cave shrines of Dambulla dating back to pre-Christian era are well known for the well-preserved Buddhist murals of the 18th century. Being one of the largest cave shrines of South Asia, the five caves cover more than 2000sq. meters of paintings of the late medieval style popularly known as Kandyan art. The exhausting hill climb of the visitors will be richly rewarded by a visit to the newly established Museum of Paintings. Ibbankatuwa, a Proto-historic site on the Dambulla –Kurunagala Road, comes under the excavation programme of Dambulla Project and attract many tourists

DAY 03- Route (Start - End): Dambulla / Anuradhapura / Dambulla

Today after having breakfast driven up to the Sri Lanka’s ancient capital of Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura was the Sri Lanka’s first known kingdom built by king Anuradha. Being Sri Lanka’s capital for centuries in the ancient time now declared as a world heritage city. The scared Sri Maha Bodhi (Holy Bodhi Tree), Dagabas, Tanks, Art & Architecture are main attractions. Anuradhapura is a World Heritage City declared by UNESCO and it is the Cultural Triangle and one of the most sacred places in Buddhism.

DAY 04- Route (Start - End): Dambulla / Polonnaruwa / Dambulla

After breakfast head out towards the 2nd most ancient city Polonnaruwa – The ancient heart of Sri Lanka. An important royal capital with its well-preserved 12th century ruins & impressive stone culture recalls an inspired past. Although nearly 1000 years old. The monuments are arranged in a reasonably compact garden setting and their development is easier to follow. POLONNARUWA– is another “UNESCO World Heritage Site” was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th – 13th Centuries, contains some splendid and spectacular statues.
Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best examples of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. Rankoth Vehera and Kirivehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihare – a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues, two seated, one standing and one reclining and Parakrama Bahu statue are examples of Sinhalese stone carver. The Vata-da-ge is a unique creation of the Sri Lankan artists.
After exploring the city you could go on an elephant back ride in Habarana before making your way back to the hotel.

DAY 05- Route (Start - End): Dambulla / Trincomalee

Having breakfast you will be driven towards Trincomalee (also known as Trinco) is a large multi ethnic town in the east coast of Sri Lanka on the way you visit Sigiriya Rock fortress which means Lion’s rock, is an ancient fortress made of rock in the Matale district of Sri Lanka. The fortress is surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens and other structures. The place is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites and is preserved due to its significance in illustrating architecture and culture of the civilization during the time it was built.After arriving to Trinco make a short sightseeing tour to look around the city and after check in to the hotel and spend leisurely by beach
Trincomalee is a port city on the east coast of Sri Lanka. The city is located on a peninsula, which divides the inner and outer harbours. Trincomalee is an anglicized version of the Tamil word Tirukonamalai (which means “lord of the sacred hill”); it is a hill situated in the end of a natural land formation that resembles an arc. It is one of the main where Tamil is spoken at large scale. Historically referred to as Gokanna or Gokarna it has been a sea port that has played a major role in maritime and international trading history of Sri Lanka. The Bay of Trincomalee provides security and is openly accessible to all types of sea crafts in all weathers. The beaches are used for recreational purposes such as surfing, scuba diving, fishing and whale watching. The city is renowned for housing the largest Dutch fort in Sri Lanka.

DAY 07- Route (Start - End): Trincomalee / Kandy

After morning breakfast leave to Sri Lanka’s hill capital lake side city of Kandy. On the way visit Matale spice garden and you will see many spice gardens at Matale and in Mawanella on the Colombo-Kandy road where Cinnamon, Cardamom, Pepper Creepers and all other spice trees, plants and creepers are planted for visitors to see them. Spice products are also available for those who would like to buy them. At all Spice Gardens visitors are taken round explaining each tree and plant and at the end explaining the use of them in food preparations. Having arrived to Kandy visit Peradeniya royal botanical garden. Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya, initially a royal park in 1821 under British rules it became a botanical garden. Here exotic crops, such as coffee. Tea, Nutmeg, Rubber and Cinchona (quinine) – an all of which were to become important to the country’s economy were first tested. The botanical gardens are fantastic with an excellent Orchid House, and a wide variety of plant species from all over the world. For keen gardeners, at least a morning is recommended to visit garden, possibly longer. Later evening visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha This is the most sacred temple to the Buddhists in the world. Ever since it was founded in the 16th century, it has one of the most sacred relics of Buddhism – a tooth of the Buddha collected from his funeral pyre and which is now protected within the gold – roofed temple of the tooth.

DAY 08- Route (Start - End): Kandy / Mahiyanganaya / Kandy

Following breakfast you will be taken to Dambana to visit indigenous people in Sri Lanka.
DAMBANA is a remote jungle village of indigenous people renowned for its eco-tourism prospects. The population of these indigenous ‘Veddha’ people now consists of only about 350 families, a number significantly reduced from a once thriving community. The ‘Veddha’ are so influenced by the imposing dominant culture that they risk losing their traditions and what has been their livelihood for centuries. However they remain determined that their way of life will continue into future generations. The Chief himself told us on a recent visit to the village that his main worry is that he may not be able prevent the ‘Veddha’ from dying out beyond his own lifetime. Visitors to this fascinating village have the opportunity to meet and chat with the people who live there, learn about their traditions, and gain a unique insight into their way of life.
After arriving to Kandy go on a short city tour of Kandy, Upper Lake, Kandy Lake and Kandy bazaar and see the culture dance performance

DAY 09- Route (Start -End): Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After having breakfast at the hotel leave to Kitulgala where you will be able to take an experience of White Water Rafting in the picturesque Kelani River, covering 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids This activity is for anyone above the age of 10 years with safety gear, modern rafts, and a comprehensive safety briefing will be given by our white water rafting instructors beforehand. The distance covered is around 5 KMs. The river and its surrounding will make you feel enchanted, with a memorable Experience during your White Water Rafting Tour in Kitulagala.
Then you will be taken to the train station at Nawalapitiya where you will board on one of the most scenic train rides in the country. After the ride your chauffeur will pick you up from the station at Nanu Oya.
After arriving to Nuwara Eliya Make a short city tour to see the city and Visit a tea factory where the process of tea producing and grading will be explained. You will also be able to taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory

DAY 10- Route (Start - End): Nuwara Eliya / Horton Plains / Nuwara Eliya

Following breakfast you could visit to world end at Horton Plains national park which is most attractive place in Nuwara Eliya.
Horton Plains national park which is most attractive place in Nuwara Eliya. The most famous place of foreigners in Sri Lanka is Horton plains. Horton plains are at Nuwaraeliya, Badulla and Rathnapura districts, there are two main entrances to this plain. Those are Pattipola entrance via Nuwaraeliya and Ambewela or Ohiya entrance via Welimada or Bandarawela. Large Savannah plains, Waterfalls, High pure water, Forests and several natural and high eco diversity areas are available to visit at Horton Plains.This is the only national park in Sri Lanka where visitors are permitted to walk on their own (on designated trails only). The walk to World’s End is 4km, but the trail loops back to Baker’s Falls (2km) and continues back to the entrance (another 3.5km). The round trip is 9.5km and takes a leisurely three hours. Note that around 9am to 10am the mist usually comes down. All you can expect to see from World’s End after this time is a swirling white wall. If you aim for a 5.30am departure from Nuwara Eliya or Haputale and get to World’s End around 7am, you’ll have a good chance of spectacular views.

DAY 11- Route (Start - End): Nuwara Eliya / Tissamaharama

After breakfast checkout from the hotel leave to Yala visit Yala National Park in the Evening. Yala national park (1570 sq.km) was created in 1938 and is located in the south eastern corner of the island. It divers range of habitats, including scrub jungle, blackish lagoons, lakes and rivers are home to approximately 500 hundred elephants and 120 leopards in addition to wild buffaloes, sambar and spotted deer, , sloth bears, macaques and langur monkeys, jackals, mongooses, wild boar etc…..There are also plentiful crocodiles.

DAY 12 / 13- Route (Start - End): Tissamaharama / Gallea

Following breakfast you will be driven up the south coast watching the waves lap on the shores. En route witness a curious feature – the stilt fishermen of Weligama who carefully balance themselves before casting their fishing lines. Following that you can explore the UNESCO world heritage Dutch fort. Galle’s 17C Dutch Fort, a UNESCO world Heritage Site. An entire evening can be spent exploring the maze of narrow roadways lined with Dutch and British Colonial era buildings that are still in use, sturdy ramparts overlooking Galle’s international cricket stadium, and scattering of shops, art galleries, museums, boutique hotels and cafes.

DAY 14- Route (Start -End): Galle > Day Excursion to Sinharaja Rain Forest > Galle

Following day go on a day trip to Sinharaja rainforest and it will spend nearly 3hrs to reach to Sinharaja after you could take a guided walking tour of the Rain forest. SINHARAJA RAIN FOREST RESERVE – Sinharaja is the only “UNESCO World Heritage Site” Rain Forest in Sri Lanka, with a very high rate of bio-diversity. The vegetation is tropical wet evergreen forest and the area under the reserve is 11,187 hectares. Sinharaja is the only relatively undisturbed rain forest of any considerable size and many of the plants are very rare and are represented by only one individual of its kind in a large area. Sinharaja can be reached from Colombo via Matugama (174 km) or Rathnapura (154 km) to Kalawana, Weddagala and up to Kudawa Base Camp. From Galle to Deniyaya and Mederpitiya (10 km) and from there to Pitadeniya Camp and enter the Reserve from the Southern side of the country.
The best period to visit is between December to early April and from August to September

DAY 15- Route (Start - End): Galle / Colombo

After having breakfast leave to Sri Lanka’s commercial capital of Colombo en route visit turtle hatchery in Kosgoda which is a Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to; incubate by the heat of the sun. Later having arrived to Colombo visit the Museum, old Parliament, the residential areas and the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall), a Hindu Kovil, a Buddhist Temple, Observing the Galle Face Green and visit Fort Bazaar. And evening you can do some shopping in Colombo.
